Updated Re-tex using Stencil/Projection



Updated textures, using Projection Stencils. Still need to find good enough high res textures to prevent the obvious tiling on the vest, but it definitely looks better than flat colors.

Jaewoo Paint

Took him into Mudbox and painted his clothes. Might go ahead and try to add some leather vest / pant textures if I have the extra time.




Fixed Normal Map: Jaewoo




Thanks to help from a friend, the normal map is now displaying properly. If you are having problems, make sure that your bump map settings are set to Tangent Space normals if you baked from Tangent Space. I was unaware of this setting, but thankfully we are always learning.

Big Trouble in Little Maya

I tried generating a normal map using TopoGun and XNormal but both of them seem to be sampling the INSIDE of the high res model and taking that information. I'll need some help in figuring out what exactly the problem is. But I'm sure that once its solved, it should work out.

Low Poly Model Unwrapped w/ Roadkill

Lost my high detail sculpt file. But still have the final topology and weapon. So, I'm posting my low poly model unwrapped and ready to transfer normals onto it. I'm going to work off of an earlier sculpt and try to work from there and try to achieve a better level of detail (hopefully it was a blessing in disguise) which will allow me to detail even better. Hopefully the normal map still translates rather well as the low poly model is still built from this sculpt -- just gotta add the details again.

Final Topology

After much more experience with Topogun and general topology, I redid the general topology of my character trying to follow best practice. The topology should be cleaner and more grid-like. I did run into triangles; but I will get better at this.
